Well. It's not like Bakugo is an idiot, either. The past version of him would have just told him to stop rambling and continued with trying to blow the whole place down, the confidence in his strength enough to outweigh the idea of failure or risks that would happen in a situation like this.
Now.. he can't afford to fall behind. He can't make mistakes like that again. And as much as he hates it, they'll have to work together to pass this test so if he broke them out alone they'd probably fail and have to do it all over again.
