He wipes furiously at his eyes, blinking over and over to try and get the bright dots behind his eyelids to dissipate quicker. He figured he'd have a couple of seconds, since he definitely felt his foot connect with Deku's side but he hears those explosions before he can see them-- and in a rush he looks up just in time to see Deku rushing towards him with such an intense expression set on his face.
He barely has a second to react. He holds his hands out and grabs a firm handful of Deku's shirt with both of his fists, relying on the strength in his legs to keep him from flying back. But Deku ramming into his burnt chest like that sends such an intense shock of pain through him, that he can only keep standing for a few milliseconds before the two of them go flying backwards together against the back wall.]
