How many shrimps do you have to eat, before you make your skin turn pink?
[Bakugo's finally gotten his provisional license, but there were still things he-- and Deku both needed to learn. Save to win, win by saving people. That motto was something that the two of them had on their mind ever since, the seed All Might planted being nurtured and growing as the two went through more experiences and learned more about one another but All Might had an idea to help it grow more. Deku was of course doing great in strides of thinking about saving people before anything else-- but he was still too soft at times and needed to learn more about controlling his power better and being able to let loose without holding back. Bakugo was good at controlling his power and not holding back, but he still needed to learn to be softer around the edges and care more about the people around him. Of course it's easy to tell these two these things or teach them in more conventional ways.. but All Might wanted to teach them through experience. With something a little more hands-on.
So he called the both over to the lounge one afternoon to meet one of his hero friends, who held a hand out to both of them at the same time for a shake. They both took it, thinking nothig of it and as soon as they did something strange happened... they blacked out for a few seconds, and woke up on the opposite end of the couch.
Next to themself.
They had been switched to each other's bodies.
Of course Bakugo screamed, something along the lines of "YOU TRICKED ME?! YOU PIECE OF SHIT RETIRED HERO?!" but it was met with a stern look and All Might explained that it was special training to help the two better understand each other. They were told it also counted for extra credit but if they let it slip that their bodies were switched, they'd fail. So now.. the two of them are sitting in Deku's dorm in dead silence, as they both try to figure out how the fuck they're supposed to do this.
It's only for a week, but it's going to be the longest week of their entire life.]

[Perhaps that's the one thing that really upsets Bakugo out of all of this. He doesn't let anyone in his room-- not even Kirishima. But it'd be extremely suspicious if Deku walked out of Bakugo's room and vice versa so it's just something he has to deal with.
There's no canon proof so I can make up what I want until otherwise-- so his room is.. surprisingly plain. There's a desk against the wall, a bookshelf, a bedside lamp.. pretty normal stuff. Everything looks sleek and cool, in blacks and greys and everything is mostly made of metal. Though there's one thing that Deku will notice right off the bat, before anything else.
...he has some All Might merchandise.
Not nearly anywhere close as Deku, but there's a few posters, a couple of figures and a worn plush that sits on the top of his bookshelf rather than on his bed. Everything's impeccably clean, as well. And surprisingly there's no burn marks anywhere, either. He's got a few candles on his desk that have been used, resulting in the room having a burnt wood kind of smell to it mixed with well... the sweet smell of nitroglycerine that Bakugo kind of Always Has.
All and all, it's nothing to write home about.]

In the end, he ends up just falling into his bed and passing out anyway, too exhausted by the shock of the day to really bother with much else. They had a lot of work ahead of them over the weekend to try and pull this off, after all...]

[Sweet dreams, Deku... you've definitely got a rough time ahead of you.
At 4:30 the next morning, while everyone else is fast asleep in their rooms Deku get's a very rude awakening. His door is suddenly kicked open (after actually turning the knob and opening it, he doesn't want to break his own door) and it's accompanied by a loud yelling in his own shrill voice.]
WAKE UP, YOU FUCKING NERD!
[It's fine everyone's asleep they probably won't even notice.]
no subject
Izuku startles awake with a barely muffled scream, sitting upright in bed as he witnesses himself bursting through the door, screaming bloody murder in the middle of the night and for a second he feels like he's lost his mind.
But then he remembers.]
K-kacchan!! You'll wake everyone!
no subject
Are you kidding?
[Bakugo closes the door behind him-- very quietly, so Deku doesn't rag him more, before he walks over to his own bed. He looms over Deku, arms crossed with a sneer set on his face.]
I couldn't sleep and found them all watching stupid zombie flicks until three in the morning.
[he mightve been called over by denki and mightve watched with them but hell never admit it]
no subject
Listen...you can't just go around yelling like that...it's fine if it's you, but people might get worried if they hear my voice-
[He knows he's beating a dead horse at this point, Bakugou knows this, yet he still feels compelled to remind him since it's going to get them caught long before not being able to fool anyone will.]
Anyway...if you couldn't sleep, why'd you come here?
no subject
Tch.
[Is all Bakugo has to say to the first part there. How is he supposed to not yell??? That's like habit at this point????????]
We're going to ask Aizawa about the training grounds. Did you already forget?
[yes its early but surely a teacher cant be mad getting woken up if its by students wanting to further their skills?????????]
no subject
Izuku yawns, rubbing at his eye with the back of a knuckle.]
No, it's just early...it's the weekend, so we could have gone to ask about it any time...
[And the others would likely be busy doing other things, like extra studies or just. You know, having the weekend off.]
But if you want to go now, fine. I was probably not going to get much more sleep anyway.
no subject
Yeah, it's early-- classes resume Monday. We're starting that day off with combat training.
[Bakugo grumbles that, moving aside so Deku has room to actually get up from bed.]
If you want to snuggle up in bed and look like a fucking idiot in front of everyone, fine. But I can't afford to lose this extra credit, so I'm not gonna let you drag me down.
[He needs all the time he can get to master One for All enough to not break his body while using it. Honestly, he's really nervous about it and it's probably not hard to notice it with Deku's naturally more expressive face.]
no subject
It isn't just extra credit, you know. We're supposed to be learning something from this...All Might wants us to learn enough about each other to be able to not just use a different Quirk freely, but to make it seem like nothing ever even happened.
It's about understanding each other, I think.
no subject
[Bakugo watches Deku move out of bed, and the look he gives him definitely comes off a lot harsher than meant-- which just ticks Bakugo off. It's not like he's aware he just Looks Angry All The Time, after all. That kind of thing is hard to notice by yourself.]
...what the fuck is with that expression? You wanna die?
[Of course it does make sense that this would be training to understand each other better.. but that's definitely going to be easier said than done.]
no subject
[He blinks, all trace of his previous irritation...or, at least most of it, vanishing into a look that Bakugou almost never adopts. Something only Izuku could pull.]
no subject
...............nevermind.
[Bakugo brings a hand up to his face, covering it to hide how embarrassed he was. If Deku has no idea then it's just something that happened naturally... he's not sure if he should be glad he looks so intimidating all the time or upset because people will think he's angry when he's not. Ah, well. When is he ever NOT angry in the first place anyway?]
Let's get this over with.
[He's just gonna head for the door already.. this is awful.]
no subject
After all, as "Deku", it was up to him to get this training this morning secured.]
no subject
[He noticed it, but he decided to keep quiet about it even though it annoyed him. Though honestly anything Deku does in his body is going to annoy him until this week is over, that's just How It Be.
That said the two of them make it to Aizawa's office (im assuming hes on campus otherwise whats the point of having the students live there), and surprisingly he's already awake. Though busy grading papers, so when the two walk in he looks less than pleased. "Deku" asks if it was alright if the two of them practiced fighting in the training grounds before the real deal on Monday, and Aizawa at first turns them down. Which gets "Deku" riled up, and he explains that the two of them weren't going to go too far this time-- they just wanted to test their skills against each other without getting in trouble for it. The two go back and forth like that for a few minutes, until "Deku" gets so angry that he raises his voice which gets Aizawa to glare at him, cutting him off.
It's frustrating, but he apologizes and there's a long bout of silence before Aizawa calmly tells them that they have five hours. Whether "Deku's" persistence changed his mind or not is uncertain but he definitely doesn't waste time-- thanking him and dragging "Bakugo" out of the room by the arm with a pissed expression that's hidden from Aizawa as he heads towards the grounds.]
no subject
To that end, he doesn't fuss at Bakugou for his showing back in Aizawa's office, but instead follows him out until they're at a reasonable distance, tugging his arm free.]
Maybe now we won't see anyone else for a couple hours.
no subject
[The moment Deku takes his arm back, Bakugo shoves his hands into the pockets of his pants, glaring at the ground as he fumes.]
Damn All Might! "Understanding each other better?" Fuck that bullshit!
[He kicks a rock in his path, absolutely embarrassed and scathing. He was almost found out by talking to one person-- he did better mindlessly watching movies with the other teens than holding one stupid conversation with Aizawa! How the hell were they supposed to pull this off?]
You better teach me how to use your damn Quirk quickly-- I feel like punching something!
no subject
[That word hits him like a spear to the gut. Teach. Him, teaching Bakugou something...
He sets his jaw and balls his fists at his sides as they enter the training grounds.]
First of all...I don't want you to punch anything at all while you're in my body.
[He turns to face Bakugou as he says this, moving to stop walking.]
One For All is the reason I've come up with Shoot Style, to take the strain off of my now-weakened arms. They're not completely useless, but right now...you're like I was when I first inherited it. If you used it like that, it would be bad.
But given what it is...it's probably best if we let you try it out first before I try yours.
no subject
[Surprisingly, Bakugo listens diligently as they walk into the building. Of course he knew that Deku's arm was fucked-- just look at it. He didn't know the full details, since that all happened over the time he.... well. He wasn't. Around for it.
And of course he knew about Shoot Style and all of that as well, but it'll be. Pretty fucking hard to switch from using fists to legs, for someone who's used his fists since he was a child. But he's not interested in fucking Deku's arms up even more than they already were, so he gives a serious looking nod after the explanation and moves to start stretching.]
I won't use it unless I feel like I can handle it. I'm not stupid.
[Meaning if they haven't mastered it this weekend, he'll just have to make up excuses on Monday about why he can't participate in the combat training.]
no subject
[Izuku swallows thickly, nervous because...he knows Bakugou isn't going to like what he has to say.]
Reaching the power to begin with...isn't easy. I'm not sure you'll even be able to in one day.
no subject
We have two.
[Bakugo says that immediately, while he crouches down to stretch out his knees.]
no subject
I guess there's nothing for it but to try.
[He looks down at his palms. Bakugou's palms.]
It's something you have to visualize...and reach out to grasp, letting it fill your body and power it up. I used to not really be able to control how much power I used, but Full Cowling allows me to change how much I access at once, or direct it more or less into different parts of my body.
no subject
Visualize, huh?
[Once he feels stretched enough, Bakugo spreads his legs a little for a more stable foundation and he looks at his own palms as well. He can think about it-- how Deku gets covered in those lines and the energy crackling all over his body, but can he really pull something like that of himself? It's not like he's expecting to be able to fully master it to Deku's extent, but he's admittedly worried that he won't be able to use it at all...
Well, might as well give it a shot.
He closes his eyes, taking in a deep breath and letting it out slowly as he thinks about it. Imagining what "filling his body with power" would feel like. His Quirk is much more reactive-- and instant, the only times he "builds up" power is for big explosions. So to have to switch to trying that out just to start out... it's going to be really tough.]
no subject
Instead of focusing on hitting something...
[Izuku looks across the field.]
Try to use One For All to power up your movements. It doesn't just make me strong- it makes me run faster, too.
no subject
[Bakugo doesn't give a verbal reply, focusing too hard on activating his Quirk to but he checks that in the back of his mind. It's a smart place to start, honestly. He.. surely can't break Deku's legs just running. right? Maybe?
Either way, the bright side to borrowing the body of someone who's gotten strong is that his body is already used to using his Quirk to an extent. It's up to Bakugo to control the power, but going into Full Cowling isn't the hard part. He visualizes a glass of milk-- pouring it into a cup as the bright red lines shoot up around his body, sparks of energy flickering all around him.
He opens his eyes, but his expression looks shocked and he's frozen in place. It's so much more power than he's ever experienced before-- and it's so foreign. It's not like using a Quirk that isn't your own is anything that should be possible under normal circumstance, it's not even something he's tried to imagine. So the feeling of One For All racing through his body, hair flowing around from the pure energy stored inside opposed to the explosions brewing under his skin takes his breath away.
Deku had this much power inside of him this entire time...?]
