BKDK: Wolf in the fire
[Bakugou Katsuki had been missing for as long as Izuku could remember.
He was barely young enough to understand what it meant when someone went missing, namely someone he called his best friend growing up. They'd been very young, only four or so at the time, when Katsuki had suddenly vanished with seemingly no trace of him left. There had been search parties, and notices posted. He was on TV, and Inko had to carefully explain to her young son why. Heroes searched tirelessly for him to no avail. And after so much time had passed, it had been assumed the young child had either died of exposure or had been kidnapped. As of now, nearly twelve years later, no body had been found.
Izuku still thought about him sometimes, though he didn't know what to make of his disappearance. There had been a funeral for him and everything, so it felt like that was just...it. That he was gone, forever. Maybe one day they'd be able to find his remains and give his parents proper closure, but for the time being his case remained opened and cold. It had been a disgrace for the top heroes of the time, but there was nothing they could do but keep searching down leads even if they went nowhere.
It was around the anniversary of Katsuki's disappearance now, as the last cherry blossoms fell and school was in full swing. Izuku had been on his way that day, walking down the sidewalk towards his middleschool. They'd be graduating soon, and after that they'd be choosing what highschools to go to. Some chose UA, some Shinketsu. Izuku knew who he'd try out for, of course.
He just wished he weren't alone in doing it.]

A wolve's den.
And rather than being their dinner, he was treated like one of their own. At first little Katsuki didn't get why he was snatched up by a wolf and drug through the forest. He thought for sure he'd be eaten.. but he realized that they thought he was one of them.
His Quirk had just manifested that morning, after all. His scent was no longer human-- it was that of a wolf.
He tried leaving multiple times, but never got far. And after months, years.. he got used to living with them. And he thought it was more fun that living with his stuffy, boring human parents.
Katsuki had become full wolf, and was proclaimed dead five years ago.
It was almost the anniversary, and the only way Katsuki knew was thanks to the sakura blossoms falling. That's the only way he could guess what day it was in the year, as it was around April when he went missing.
Katsuki decided to go out on a hunt by himself, and the other wolves gave him permission. He ventured out, farther than he's ever been and eventually he stumbles out of a few bushes into a neighborhood.
He's frozen, at first. Staring at the buildings and cars like they were something that was going to eat him, and at first he thought so but... a flash of a memory comes across his mind, and it has him curious.
He's been here before.. but he can't remember when. Honestly, his memories of when he was taken and the years before are distant... but that's what makes this place so intriguing.
He stalks around on his hands and feet despite his humanoid body, peeking around corners and jumping in bushes to hide as he checks this place out. And to his surprise, he sees a green haired human walk right past him. That should be a fun thing to chase, he thinks to himself and after only a few seconds, he starts sprinting after.
He lets out a growl as he jumps and grabs the other boy's arms to push him to the ground and pin him.]

His backpack is large and bulky, and it's going to make keeping his arms around Izuku difficult as he squirms against the clawed hands gripping him, letting out an exclamation of surprise as he tries to twist around to see who the hell just jumped him. The wolf will be wise to notice that smoke is seeping from the corners of his mouth.]
H-hey!! Get off of me! Let me go!!
no subject
[The wolf boy growls at him, and he tightens his grip while leaning in towards Deku's face. He peers at him for a moment, feeling oddly... excited seeing him. He's not sure why, though, and it ticks him off that his tail is wagging so much.
So in a split second, he chomps onto the side of Deku's cheek, with another growl.
His teeth are.. pretty flat and human-like, though.]

Izuku doesn't have time to think, he just reacts. The moment he's bitten, whether really dangerous or not, it's enough of a shock for him to open his mouth and let loose a dangerously close pillar of flames that jets out right at Katsuki's face, singing the fur on one of his ears.]
no subject
The moment he sees the flame escape the boy's mouth, singing the fur on his ear and a little bit of the skin underneath, he lets go and jumps back a few feet, standing up on his hind legs with his arms in front of himself. He activates his Quirk, which causes his muscles to tighten and thicken, his hands to grow thick and sharp claws along with more fur up his arms, his teeth to grow into sharp fangs and his red eyes glowing yellow.]
Grrr... don't fire! I'll kill you!
no subject
His Quirk? It must be...he watched the way his body changed, making it impossible to fully make out his face now that he's more wolf than person. It's like he's a werewolf.
Izuku grits his teeth, the base of his throat glowing in warning.]
Don't- don't come near me. Don't come any closer!
no subject
He tilts his head, and takes a couple steps forwards with his nose in the air, sniffing to see if he can figure out what's wrong.]
You smell! Smelly dumb human!
no subject
He takes a step back, flames licking at the back of his tongue.]
I-I said don't!
no subject
He drops to all fours, even, and stalks towards him slowly, his tail wagging between his legs.
It's so familiar... where is that scent from?!]
no subject
He shuffles backward further though to try to get away, pulling in towards himself with smoke puffing from his mouth like an anxious choo-choo train.]
Wh-what do you want from me?!
no subject
And after being able to get a good enough smell, Bakugo's eyes open just a fraction larger.]
I.. zu.. ku?
[He says that name as he leans back, his Quirk slowly deactivating, making his features more and more human-like.]
no subject
Then the Quirk deactivates like a shed skin, once again revealing the true person underneath, and there's recognition dawning in those features. That platinum blonde hair, and soft features now sharp and hardened with age. A visage he thought had been erased from everything but his oldest memories.
Izuku's mouth goes dry, the last sparks of his flames turning to ash on the back of his tongue.]
......K...Kacchan?
no subject
You.. y-you....
[He tries to get something out, but his brain can't quite keep up with his thoughts. He was.. raised after wolves, after all. The most he really knows is what he learned until he was five as far as speaking Japanese goes.]
no subject
I...I d-don't understand...
[He whispers thinly, looking beyond Katsuki's shoulder to something he only remembers, the laughing face of his best friend just days before he disappeared.]
It....can't be....you...you were...
no subject
[Katsuki finishes his sentence, claws digging into Deku's skin as he holds him tight and tries to wrap his mind around seeing his childhood friend-- seeing another human for the first time in years.]
You were here. Always. The whole time.
no subject
Of course I was, I- w-what do you mean "taken"? Were you kidnapped?
no subject
[If you can call it that.
He pulls himself back from Deku, but still holds onto his shoulders as he gets a good look at him. He was just as doofy looking as he remembered, but a little buff. What was his Quirk again? Did he ever get to see what it was? He can't remember that much yet.. but just thinking about it has a tail behind him wagging.
Also. He's naked. Just by the way.]
Big dogs found me. My Quirk appeared, and they thought I was one of them.
no subject
[That...he can't wrap his head around that. Dogs took him away?
Dogs...or maybe something wilder than that, given what Katsuki looks like now. Him being naked would probably be more of an issue if Izuku had the time to process it. Right now, he's still struggling to process the fact that he's alive at all.
Izuku sniffs, very clearly struggling and failing to fight back tears, his heart sinking a little when Katsuki pulls back out of their embrace.]
You're...a wolf?
no subject
[It's been.. too long since he last learned any Japanese..
He notices, though, how Izuku's eyes are watering. How tears are welling up and slowly dripping down his cheeks and it gets a frown out of him, his ears pinning back to his head.]
Don't cry, stupid. You look like prey. Weak.
[It's annoying him.]
no subject
[He's telling him not to cry, yet Izuku is...already crying, there's no stopping it once he's started either.]
I thought...I t-thought you were...
[You know. Dead. For YEARS.]
no subject
[Imagine being a five year old suddenly being dragged into the woods by the collar of his shirt... he feels bad that Izuku's been worried this entire time, though. If he were honest, he figured he'd been forgotten about. And after some time he.. forgot about Izuku, too. It was just in the back of his mind after the years of living with a different kind of family but now that he's here.. everything is flooding back.
Because Izuku's crying, and clearly in distress Katsuki leans close to him, and licks his cheek, tasting the saltiness of his tears against his soft tongue.]
....m'sorry, Izuku.
no subject
So Katsuki will just have to put up with Izuku reaching out to hold him closer, burying his face against his shoulder with a shuddering sob.]
no subject
...years later..]
...hey. How old are you?
[He just realized he. Doesn't know his own age.]
no subject
F.....fifteen...
no subject
[There's obvious shock in Katsuki's voice when he says that,]
How old am I?! Fifteen? Then... how long has it been, Izuku?! Five years??!?
[he cant count]
